20171009_13090420171009_13100120171009_130934Its hard to say how we come up with the ideas we do. How we decided one day that our store looked fabulous, then the next day its all turned around! We did that very thing this week, and weekend, working and owning a retail store is not as glamorous as you might think!

We came back from Vegas with lots of thoughts in our head. One of those was the new PFAFF Creative Icon, and bringing that in the store was an eye opener! We also, on the same weekend, had a delivery from our good friends at Unique Sewing Furniture, delivering  the most beautiful, handmade, custom cabinets and drawers. I am so excited about how these cabinets fit our machines exactly. The risers are handmade the cabinets are on twin wheel plate casters. The cabinets are available in Oak, Birch, Cherry, Hickory and Mahogany. The bottom drawer accommodates the embroidery module. The drawers are on slow close mechanism, and the handles are solid and come in a variety of colors. Companion Chest is available to hold spools of thread, hoops and supplies.

Well, we have nearly cleared the Christmas tree of goodies off, it has been a great sale for all involved, I'm sure we have got ourselves and our friends some bargains We are continuing our sale on these items until this week, don't forget to check out the Janet Haskins magazines, they are also greatly reduced.

Back to it, hope you all have a great week, and we are thankful for friends and customers like you!

Take a trip to the Gardendale Store, its closing its door for the last time on the 21st of this month, don't miss out on some great deals, we don't want to bring anything from there here so, shop, shop, shop!!!!

From me and Izzy, see you later. Dont forget to sign up fpr the newsletter, I promise we dont send out alot, and we don't share your information with anyone. Also, like our facebook page, we are looking to hit more likes every week, invite your friends to like our page too!

Sew til you go!

Thursday, September 14, 2017 12:19 PM

A once monthly, gathering of quilters & crafter's, begins at 9, (get there when you want to), ends at midnight, (leave before if you want to!) we chat, laugh, watch YouTube videos, talk about projects, share ideas, shop (of course), watch Donna on whats she's up to next, entertain Izzy, (until she falls asleep), and order food for supper. Its an amazing group of newbies and seasoned friends who just bring what they want to work on, (some of us bring many different projects) machines, thread, seam rippers, rotary cutters, rulers etc. Of course there is always one of us (me, usually) who forgets something and there is always someone, who has an extra to lend.

Personally, I enjoy watching people, seeing how they make their project how they teach themselves a new technique, and how, like me, often stick their tongues out slightly when working! (you know who you are!).

A fantastic group who have made my visits to Huntsville Sew and Vac a joyful, memorable one.

Join in, make new friends, laugh at silly stuff, maybe even learn something new.

Keep your eyes on the calendar for the next session, we post it as soon as we know when its going to be.

Sew, until next time, keep sewing and watch that bobbin thread..

Choosing your colors for fall

Choosing your colors for fall

Have you ever wondered how some people just have that 'knack' for putting colors together? With so many fabric lines in the store we are blessed that they come in different groupings. However, when you look at the beautiful batiks that this fall table runner is made up of, its easy to see why she choose these colors! the most beautiful oranges I have ever seen, and that gorgeous contrasting border, with a splash of green for the stems. Just reminds me of fall days, and walking the dog through the leaves, listening to them crunch under foot as they slowly dry out, waiting for the next season to start. Did you know that you shouldn't rake up your leaves, you should leave them as an abundance of wildlife lay their eggs and make nests in the leaves, although it might look neater in your yard, if you leave a little bunch in the yard for the caterpillars to evolve. So, did you choose your colors yet for the table runner,  I can't wait to make mine, can you?
